Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art that emphasizes technique, strategy, and self-control, helping students learn how to remain calm and confident when faced with confrontation. These classes provide students with an opportunity to build confidence, strengthen their social and communication skills, and develop positive strategies for managing stress, conflict, and challenging situations. Students will learn how to assess and redirect difficult situations, communicate effectively, and, when necessary, use appropriate physical techniques to protect themselves.

Isaac Mass has been training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for nearly 10 years and is the founder of Jews of Jiu-Jitsu, an international community dedicated to bringing Jewish people together through the empowering and transformative practice of martial arts.

In Dance & Tumble, students will work on movement combinations that will challenge their minds and bodies. In this beginner-friendly robotics class designed especially for younger students, children are introduced to early coding concepts and problem-solving through hands-on play with Code & Go Mouse–style robots. Using simple directional commands, students will program their robot mice to follow paths, reach targets, and complete playful challenges—building foundational computational thinking skills in a screen-free environment.

In addition to robotics play, students will participate in STEM-inspired crafts, such as building mini mazes, decorating robot tunnels, and creating imaginative challenge environments. The class supports confidence, curiosity, and joyful learning—laying the groundwork for future STEM success.

Children get to play soccer in fun, different ways to enhance their skills while having fun. Some classes we play with multiple balls in play so everyone, no matter their skill, touches the ball a lot. Other times we will have both multiple balls and multiple goals to score on. Other classes will use a giant soccer ball or a bunch of mini soccer balls with different size goals. Children will learn how to dribble with both feet, shoot with different sections of their feet, basic juggling skills, some levels of tactics and most importantly teamwork and team play.

Many of you already know Mike from your children's birthday parties or celebrations with their friends. Now he's bringing his fun, high-energy style to our classrooms for our very first Magic Club!

This exciting club is perfect for children who are eager to learn the secrets of magic and how to perform for an audience. Mike will introduce students to the fundamentals of magic, including essential magical principles, how to use everyday (and a few not-so-everyday!) objects to create amazing illusions, and the skills needed to become an engaging performer.

This is a wonderful opportunity for your child to learn from a real 5-star professional magician while building confidence, creativity, and presentation skills, and having a great time along the way!

Cheerleading is a high-energy, team-based, performance sport that is athletic, as well as artistic. It involves athletes completing routines composed of dance and cheer segments. Cheerleading at He'Atid is designed to give students the opportunity to learn dances, cheers, chants, and team-building activities. Through the development of athletic skills, leadership, and teamwork, cheer students will increase their confidence while supporting each other. These students will cheer at the He’Atid Hurricanes Pep Rally. Please wear sneakers and bring a water bottle. If preferred, students can change into sweatpants/t-shirt.

This after-school club takes young artists beyond simple crafts and introduces them to the exciting world of real painting. Students will learn foundational techniques such as mixing and creating custom colors, exploring a variety of brushes and painting tools, and developing confidence in bringing their own creative ideas to life on canvas. Each child will have the opportunity to experiment, express themselves, and create artwork they’ll be proud to take home.

In this introduction to culinary arts, Toby has designed a series of cooking classes perfect for cooks that are just starting out or would like to refresh their fundamentals. The 4 week series consists of fun, hands-on, creative classes exploring a wide variety of culinary concepts. Students will learn knife skills, ingredient procurement, kitchen safety techniques, menu planning and most of all, competency to cook/bake independently.

Children participate in a new sport each week playing a series of fun games and challenges in non-traditional ways. Sports include Football, Basketball, Soccer, Golf, Baseball and more! 

The best aspect of this club is that the children get lots of touches on the ball each week. We play sports in fun and creative ways. Children will learn how to play well together, how to respect themselves and their teammates, and will learn about good sportsmanship. Using the “whole child” methodology, each game will require both physical skill and will challenge the children to use their problem-solving abilities to uncover the best way to play the games. Prizes will be handed out based on the children showing Good Sportsmanship, Teamwork and Active Participation.

Have you ever dreamed of creating a video game? In this course, we’ll dive into game development. Students will learn the fundamentals of game design, starting with HTML programming. During the course, we will use AI technology for storytelling and image creation, infusing unlimited options into game creation. We’ll also work on enhancing writing skills by coding trivia challenges and immersive choose-your-own-adventure games. Learners will have the opportunity to collaborate on a group game. Together, you'll practice the techniques learned throughout the course to craft a game that can be shared with friends and family. You don’t need any previous experience or special software; you’ll only need your creativity!

For 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade boys and girls - both returning students and newcomers who are curious about trying something new - the He’Atid/Black Box Studios Drama Club is a fun, welcoming opportunity to explore the world of theater in a low-pressure and collaborative environment.

Students will participate in acting exercises, improvisation, theater games, character development, scene work, and more, all while building confidence and learning to work as part of an ensemble. The club is designed to be enjoyable for students of all experience levels, whether they have performed before or have never stepped on a stage.

A working professional Teaching Artist from the area’s longest-running performing arts school will lead the group and guide students through activities that help develop important skills such as poise, clear projection, public speaking, self-confidence, creativity, teamwork, and overcoming stage fright. Students will have the opportunity to discover their individual strengths while encouraging and supporting one another.

The sessions will build toward an early-spring performance of a one-act comedy, giving students the exciting opportunity to put their new skills into practice and perform for family, friends, and fans! From the first theater game to the final curtain call, students will have the chance to make new friends, have fun, and experience the excitement of being part of a production.

No previous acting experience is necessary, just a willingness to participate, have fun, and give it a try!

Students will explore a variety of jewelry-making techniques and mediums, including beads, charms, wire, string and more. Each session will introduce a fun new project while encouraging creativity, self-expression, and hands-on skills.
