Drama Production (Tuesdays) 6th-8th
Theater at Yeshivat He'Atid is off to a great start with the premieres of Peter Pan and Alice & Wonderland last year. Now for our newest He’Atid drama production…The Wizard of Oz!! Students work as a team to produce an entertaining quality product while building confidence in themselves. Basic instruction on acting, stage movement, theatrical terms and definitions, blocking, character analysis 101, anatomy of theatre, respect for the art of performing, dialogue and diction, stage combat and of course, having fun! (Note there will be only one production this year. Don’t miss it!)
Drama will run from after the chagim until the March 3rd performance date. Includes 15 rehearsal sessions, three “tech week” sessions, dress rehearsal and a performance. Props and sets are included. All students get a speaking part. Note that this isn’t a musical with singing, but a theatrical presentation of a classic tale.
Student’s costume not included (can be homemade!).
Middle School students will practice separately but be in the final performance together with the 3rd-5th grade drama students.
